With yet another night of waiting to dine at Grand Electric (line ups have NOT died down), we decided to stop into Chantecler a couple doors down for a few snacks and drinks. The restaurant is quite small but has a very intimate, cozy and rustic feel to it. The food was very innovative and delicious with an Asian/American focus, and I will be back soon to try more of the inspired menu items.

Thinly sliced silky duck breast paired with sweet, acidic pickled beets and salty crunchy peanuts. An interesting flavour and textural combination.
One of the most interesting beef tartare renditions I have had in the city! It comes with nori sheets in which you make a wrap of the well seasoned tartare, the creamy and unctuous oyster emulsion paired with the crisp, cooling cucumber. An asian twist but a very surprising taste on the palette, creamy and savoury.
